Blue Paintings 2003-2004
In Boston's MFA I saw a small Egyptian necklace made from blue ceramic beads. Out of all the extraordinary objects that live within those walls, this simple piece of jewelry molded in an artisan's hands to adorn a woman's neck inspired me the most. The necklace links both to the ancient past and the vivid present, its unique blue luminous and magical through time. |
