The Movable Garden 2003
Thirteen copper panels painted on wood. I used a knife to dig and scrape the color as each painting was built layer by layer. The words on the panels, frequently illegible or fragmented grew out of previous work that incorporated lists and markings and extended my exploration of both graphic play and acts of gathering: letters, petals, pieces of fabric. |
